An Early Morning First Post

Hello everyone, this will be the first of many posts recording the progress of our new band, Mother Runaway.  I'm Jonah! I'm the bassist, and I also sing backup vocals and play synthesizers.  I also own and operate Flood Wall Studios in Louisville, KY.  While I'm on it, let me talk a little about the other members of the band and who we are.  The members of the band are Me, Savannah, Eliot, and Hannah.

Savannah is a force of nature and we are so lucky to have her.  She plays rhythm guitar and is our lead vocalist.  She previously was a member of another local band, Big Spoon.  She's the most talented singer I've ever had the privilege of playing with, and she's an extremely talented songwriter as well.  I'm so beyond happy that she reached out to Eliot and I about getting together to make some music.  She owns and runs a clothing line called Peaches and Dream (http://instagram.com/peaches_an_dream), styles and organizes photoshoots, and is a talented model, director, and photographer herself.  Come see us and watch her shine.

Eliot has been one of my best friends for years and is in fact my roommate going on three years.  He's a fantastic guitar player, vocalist, and all around brilliant musician.  He and I have played in another local band called The Astral Planes together for years.  He has solo work under several names, primarily Somnalescent (https://somnolescent.bandcamp.com/).  He and I have been huge influences on each others playing styles and musical tastes for a very long time now.  Also, dude loves Metal, can you blame him?

Hannah has been drumming since the dawn of time.  Well, since she was 10 (I think, gonna have to check on that).  Her style is sparse yet powerful, putting the perfect hits exactly where they need to be.  She's got the rhythm in her blood.  I've only met her fairly recently but I am already so fond of her.  She is witty, sarcastic, sharp as a tack, an extremely talented photographer and singer, and has absolutely fantastic taste.  She's exactly what we need and want in a drummer and we're keeping her.

As for me, I've been playing music for so long now and I'm just now getting to the point where I feel as if I'm making significant progress in both songwriting and in production.  Two things this band is going to let me practice and improve on in spades.  We started using a group songwriting method which is working absolute wonders for us.  I've never written like that before and its frankly magical.  I've been in The Astral Planes, and I have solo music as well (jonahdaneshmand.bandcamp.com), but I can honestly say I've never been as excited about a musical project as I am about this one.

We're absolutely committed and I hope lots of you will join us on our journey.  Recordings coming soon.  I'll try to get some of the other members to do some posts here sometimes.
